Default Throttle body spacer any good?

Hello, I'm new to this forum. I just recently bought a 00 Civic Ex, and it came with a throttle body spacer on it. I've tried searching and haven't got an exact answer for it. I know it helps the bigger engines like a v8, but my engine is pretty small and I was just wondering if it dose anything to increase performance or if its actually hurting the performance of my car. Thanks for any information you guys can give me.

The theory works but remember on small displacement engines you won't see much of a differance. On a big displacement engine like a v8 you see a bigger differance. EX) 1.6<5.7 thats bout 3.5 times the size, So if you gain 1-2hp on a 1.6 thats roughy 3.5-7hp on a 5.7. Could get more though. Also remember this too. The claims alot of these companies do are not whp but hp. Big differance especial since theres roughy a 15%+ loss thru the drivetrain. & even on boost cars theres not much gained on spacers. Mostly there used to make cleaner lines for vac.

No, its only good if everything is port matched, and even then your gains are minimal. Waste of money, but you didn't pay for it so who cares?

Honda engineers designed their intakes that way for a reason...
