not completely true. my friend gained 7hp with a spacer. although it was on a 96 dodge ram 2500 with a 488ci V10

Throttle body spacers don't work. It's common sense, just think about it; it doesn't matter if the air is swirling when it enters the plenum - it certainly won't be swirling once it gets split into 4 ways and makes a 90* turn down each runner.
