Throttle Body noise

Throttle Body noise
I got a 97 civic coupe, stock engine; the throttle body makes this whistling like sound that more than anything is very annoying. It doesn’t make that sound when it idles. It only makes the sound when the gas pedal is at a certain spot. Some guy told me that is because of the plate and I need to replace the throttle body all together. Any help on how to stop this will be greatly appreciated. I have also al ready taken the throttle body off and cleaned it out but didn’t help any.

aftermarket intake? you don't have to replace the TB on a honda. or atleast that's almost never the problem. (problems could be someone screwing around and messing up the TB, broken sensors, poor adjutments...)
if it runs fine, look for cracks or leaks... but an aftermarket intake will make this noise, it just does.

does it sound like a mini turbo? ive heard that sound on almost all hondas with after market intakes. there is a screw on the side of the tb, that you can adjust. be careful adjusting it, this will affect you idle. make sure you remember how many turns it is from closed, . but it may help quiet down that whistling sound.

if you have a cold air or ram air intake that could cause it. or one of the b/s tornado fuel saver things. or a t-b spacer. i have an aem cold air and a t-b spacer and it sounds like a turbo spooling at the right rpm and throttle(not that i was goin for that. it just kinda happened). unless the car is running poorly i wouldnt worry about it.

its a vacuum leak.... cause your not sealing 100% at either the intake or at the TB it has nothing to do with sensors or air bypasses.. its just a leak before the tb butterfly

Re: Throttle Body noise (95_acc0rd)
idk about that. im not sure on the 97's but on my 95 if there's a leak passed the map sensor it will cause an idle surge. a vacuum leak will also cause an idle surge. and he didnt say anything about that. but maybe the map sensor on his car isnt on the t-b.
