Thoughts on a 92 Civic dx HB

I'm going to be getting a 92 civic dx hatchback, everything on it is stock i believe and i was wondering about an engine swap. Right now it has a 1.5L SOHC 16 valve engine and I'm wondering if a 2.5L will be possible to put in it. I have no idea if this will help anything but please post any comment and suggestions on a wap and any other mods needed.... (This is going to be my 1st car.) Thanks alot

Interesting...a 2.5l motor from what car?
Im sorry, let me make this simple. For an easy swap, you are going to want a B series motor. There is no 2.5L b series motor. I suppose you could make one though. Why do you want a 2.5L motor? Torque? If you are really after torque, you are getting the wrong kind of car...go buy yourself some american muscle.

A 4-Cyl. 2.5 Liter, its fairly old,(but so is the 92) thats all i know about it at this point. Would that make it any better than the stock engine in it right now? Any other suggestions?

Since it's your first car, I'm guessing you are young. I would suggest you not try to do anything our of the ordinary the first time around. If you are going to do a swap, do a simple bolt-in motor. If you have no idea which motor is pretty much bolt-in for your car, then you have TONS of reading to do. Here is a link that might be helpful: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=878010

Yes i am young, REALLY new to all this mod stuff, 2.5L comes from a 89 Chevy Celebrity(haha). Is it even possible to swap a chevy into a honda? Also Thanks for the link ill read about it.

That's a little vague on the info on the engine. Is it a honda motor? If not, then I'm going to guess that it's not going to be such an easy job. Is it Front wheel drive? If not, then you are in trouble.

not worth doing, you would end up paying too much for making the Chevy engine to bolt in. But if you have the money anything is possible.
I would suggest you get an better honda engine like the one from the 99-00 Civic SI B16a or the any engine from the Acura Integra.

anywhere from $200-$4,000
look in the classified forum ...sometime you can find some nice deals.
Or check your local junkyard

I don't think you should do that swap. just do a normal honda swap.
