?for those who have swapped or gone turbo?
I have a 95 Civic Si. My question is for those of you who have a CIVIC Si or Ex(D16z) and went the turbo route and for those in any CIVIC who did a b16 or b18 swap. Tell me why you chose one over the other. Please also let me know of any reliability problems that you have had. I have been debating the greddy turbo kit (with stronger internals as needed) or a b16 swap. I am not looking for an all out race car just something reliable but quick enough to have some fun. If you do have a crazy setup I would love to hear about that also. Oh and MPG would be a great help if you know how much you have been getting since I will be using this as a daily driver.
thanks

Re: ?for those who have swapped or gone turbo? (honda9369)
From some of my searches that I have read in the past, a turbo with 5-7 psi can get around 165-180HP at the wheels on a D16Z. I was amazed to see those #'s, + the TQ was amazing for a 1.6. Anyone heard of reliablity problems?

This thread will be locked *crosses fingers* very soon. There are supposed to be no more SOHC-T vs. DOHC threads in this forum. Follow the link in my sig. as it will give you all the info you need on this question....I promise.

This has been covered HUNDREDS of times. Why don't you do some searching instead of asking us to spoon feed you decisions...

greddy turboed z6 i got about 30-33 miles per gallon
on my b18c1 get between 25-30 miles per gallon
If i were you I would go with a greddy kit. You can make decent power pretty reliably and it will only cost you around 1100 bucks.

Re: ?for those who have swapped or gone turbo? (honda9369)
thanks for the help all!! Where can I find a new greddy turbo kit that cheap ($1,100). I am guessing that that price was for a used kit
I was thinking that going turbo would be the better route as long as it was at low boost with I/C. So no one that has replyed has had any problems with there turbo D16.
thanks again

Here man. This is why I posted it, because it's not that easy to SEE real results from a boosted D-series motor.
