Those running an ITR sway with Beaks kit. . .
I'm curious as to how many people running this combo have not had any problems with ripping/tearing the subframe. Also, what springs/rates are you running?

Re: Those running an ITR sway with Beaks kit. . .
I guess what I'm getting at is this: I'm running relatively soft rates (prokit - 290F/190R P/P) and KYB AGX shocks (set 1F/2R for daily driving). You hear all these stories of "Oh ****, I tore my subframe", but you don't hear the stories of the people who have had this setup for a long time with no problems. . . just like you'd hear more customer complaints than positive comments. I realize that the ITR bar, even with the Beaks SRK, will put stress on my subframe. I don't have the money to go out and buy the comptech setup as I'm a college student, so my options are: ITR/Beaks or NO anti-roll bar. Is it worth the risk?

if you're at all nevous, get a 14mm GSR bar. Thats what I run and I love it.
If you're still understeering too much, which I doubt, stiffen up the rear dampers and adjust your tire pressure and toe

I'd run a GSR bar with your set-up.
22mm bars require stiff springs and shocks to work well.

haha, not on a EG yet, nope.

I have does the itr rear sway bar on 2 cars now. I made my own version of the bsq kit for about $6. I have it on my DB7 with stock suspension and it is actually a great improvement. I have had it on for about a yr now with no problems/ tearout or anything. I also have it on my 93 hatch. Its a great upgrade. worth every penny.

I'm running the ITR sway bar in the rear as well. i have had zero problems with it. But i was running 625lbs springs in the rear. if you run higher rates i will work better. but you should be fine with any aftermarket spring. just not stock.

that won't do **** unless it's integrated into the swaybar mounts like the comptech set-up.

I've run the ITR bar with the Beaks kit on an EG for over a year with no tearing. The reason for the Beaks kit is so it doesn't tear. I'm running spring rates of Front=504lbs/in and Rear=224lbs/in--they're Tein Type Flex coilovers. You'll love it--much less understeer. I wouldn't be scared to get the Beaks kit instead of the Comptech Bar System, if I were you.

I don't believe you. It may not be as a significant difference, but it will still stiffen the lower chassis.

I don't believe you're running such silly spring rates but that doesn't change much, does it?
I meant it won't do squat to strengthen the subframe against tear-outs and I'll stand beside that comment.
And no, I won't test that theory out, I have a Comptech.

Silly spring rates? That's just what they come with, at least according to Tein's website.
And, I thought you meant the rear lower tie bar wouldn't improve chassis stiffness. No need to get all testy. So, right back at ya.
No, a lower tie bar won't protect against tear-outs, I concur.

Re: Those running an ITR sway with Beaks kit. . . (SkyeC)
People who buy stock-rate coilovers make me sad That's the whole reason behind coilovers, custom rates and corner weighting!
It seems to me like a tie bar would put more stress on the subframe. If the subframe was allowed to flex it should take some stress off of the mounting points for the sway bar.
Does anyone know the diameter of the GSR and 99-00 Civic Si's sway bars?
