Thinking of Selling my Coupe for a 92 hatch. What do you think?
I my car to death and I have plans for it down the road like putting that Greddy Turbo Kit on, but...I have stumbled upon a nice bone-stock 92 DX Hatch-Red, AC, mt, 128,000 miles on it, very good cond. for 3,000. (Maybe less if I can talk him into it). The reason I am thinking this is because I really love the hatches and I can't seem to ever reach my goal of things I want to get done to my coupe. So, I figured if I buy the hatch for 3k, then put 3k into modifications (assuming I can get 6k out of my car) like a b16, or even just a d16y8 and turbo it and use the rest for more engine mods. Sorry if this is alot of questions, but I am seriously thinking of doing it.
1. Do you think a 92dx hatch for 3k is a good deal?
2. Could I get at least 6k out of my car?(selling it as is or parting it out?)
Here's a pic of my car-it does have a mini-me swap, y8im swap,:

Don't do it.
$3000 is to much for a 92 DX IMO, we paid 1500 for a 93 cx about 6 months ago and 4500 for a 92 Si three years ago.
Keep your coupe and maybe do a 99 front end and save for a swap.

Yeah, a big part of me still wants to keep the coupe... Maybe I'm just a little too anxious to get a turbo kit/engine swap.

$3000 for a 92 dx is fair. personally i wouldn't buy it if the owner did mods to it, but if it's completely stock and well maintained it would have a lot of potential. as for your coupe i think you could get $6000 out of it easily.

Keep the coupe. It's sexy. You can find a hatch shell for about $500 if you really wait and are patient.

If you want a hatch wait for a better deal. I got a 94 dx w/ a new paint job (World Rally Blue) and a carbon fiber hood on 2000 Si wheels for 3500. Good Luck; once you go hatch you'll never go back

I'd never let others' decisions on what cars they drive influence my decision to keep or buy a car.
I don't give a **** how many hatches there are around - I'll still keep mine. I've had one since 1995 and will probably continue to own at least one (have 3 right now) up until my midlife crisis.
Back when I was into hatches coupes were all the rage. Funny how things changed to hatches catching on and being the ****, and now being hating on a discouraged because "everyone owns onw..."

not to sound like I'm on the bandwagon, but your situation is alot like mine. I found a mildly fixed up 94 vx the other day and bought it. So now i have a 99 coupe to sell. I just love the way the hatches look, so if you like eg's better, go for it!

go for the hatch, but find a better price..maybe 2200 would be a good price for that car
