Thinking of putting together an exhaust.
Didn't get response in forced induction forum.
This is a 93 Hatch by the way.
So let me know if this idea might work.
FIrst I want to replce everything with a 3 inch downpipe and exhaust. If anyone knows a shop in Brooklyn of Queens let me know. I want to keep it quiet so this is what I was thinking...
I want to sort of replicate the mugen exhaust since I have been told the twin loop design makes it very quiet. So I'm thinking the muffler below by magna flow with a loop pipe on it. Can I even get this in there?
Now I don't know if there is enough room with a 3 inch exhaust but I would like to put in a resonator to make it even quieter. Do you think this will squeeze in there?
I have 2.5inch N1 exhaust and crappy greddy downpipe. I think they are really holding the engine back at this point.
Well anyways what do you think?

wow thats a really good idea with the dual muff, but i believe that muff is 2 strait throu deals, so that extra pipe would do nothing, i duno kno tho...

Well I don't know if it will work as well but sure it will work. Just a mter of wether I can get it under the bumper cover. Anyone think the demensions are to big?
I think the idea behind the twin loop is that the exhaust noise cancels eachother out. Now it would seem that requires a bit of tuning. UNfortunately I won't be welding it up and testing it til I get a perfect canceling effect. Of course as the pitch changes as you rev the motor the effects will be diminished. (If my audio theory is still somewhat right)

as long as it resonates at the same pitch in both pipes it should theoretical be totally silent...but we all know that you can never get exactly the same. The pitch of the exhaust wouldnt matter tho, as both pipes will "hear" whaever pitch is being put out by the engine.

Don't worry about doing that twin loop stuff on a turbo car. I'm running 3.5" from the turbo back, with a resonator and an Apex'I GT-Spec muffler. It's loud as **** at WOT, at idle it has a nice burble to it but no drone at all. Cruising it's totally acceptable. Running a straight thru muffler and a resonator you shall be fine.

i think itd be the same as running a normal rear exhaust and thier canister style as a resonator closer to the cat under the car. cause it basically is passing through 2 mufflers either way.. that was it would look like a normal muffler int he back..
