Default Thinking of buying a 93 Si hatch

I found a car that I am thinking about getting. Its a 93 Si hatch with 125K miles on it. Exterior needs help. There is some rot on the rear quarters like most EGs and definitly needs some paint. The interior is mint aside from the speedo not working along with the dash light. What could that be?

Mechanically its seems to be in good shape. I took it for a ride and noticed that it has a warped rotor cuz the pedal was jumping when I got on the brakes. The women has reciepts for many things including, clutch, timing belt, water pump, thermostat, exhaust(definitly gotta go) and head gasket. From the service records it sounds like it was well maintened beside the exterior. She was originally asking $4500 but I told her I wouldn't pay more than $2500 for the car. Does that sound like a good deal?

I picked up a 92 CX with no Exterior, Interior, Mech., problems what so ever for 2K couple years back. I should have never sold it.

I just bought my '92 VX with 200000 miles on the body for $1500...the body is mint...the interior was basically mint (just dirty, I ended up getting an entirely new interior from an awesome guy for free...carpet and all), nothing wrong with it yet, been driving for 2 months, and it also had a new engine put in it with only 70xxx miles one it before I got it. I'd say you're getting hosed if it's over $2000 -> just stay away from the SI, hopefully you'll take out AC/power steering stuff anyway and the SI is the heavier model too. Again, wait and keep lookin', but good luck with whatever happens!

Picked up my black '93 Si 4 months ago for $5500...but that was from the original owner in mint cond with 77k. For you, with the given mileage, condition and problems, I'd give the 2500...but not a cent more .

How much do you guys think I should expect to pay to have the rust on the quarters fixed and new paint on the whole car? Anybody know?
