Thinking about K swap for my 98, I can pick one up cheap, few Q's
I can pick up a K24 out of a 04 accord with 14,XXX miles on it. It comes with manual tranny, wire harness, engine harness, I can cut out shifter, axles, possibly ECU, all for the price of $1000. I know it a good deal but what would it go for if I was to sell it? I'm a B series guy but would love to rock a K. I know what is involved, just wanted some opinions on price of said swap, if I don't use it I would sell it and would like to know. I have been out of the loop for awhile.

Not really looking for trades, just wondering what is the going rate for complete swap. I really might just throw this in my DD.

accord k24a swap has 160 hp . although u can get it cheap but it will be alot of work and other parts needed ($$$). i would go with b series swap. cheaper parts and a lot of parts are interchanable..

↑I dont think you guys understand. i am buying the swap for $1000, I know its a good deal. If I dont end up using it I was wondering what a complete swap would go for.

yeah but k24a from tsx has about 200 hp or 210 hp i cant remember.. and k24a engine from accord has only 160 hp
i would say less than $2000 for k24 complete swap from accord.element and crv. cause it is not a race engine, at least not high rev engine.

k20a jdm type-r goes for 5k, so... with that in mind, i am guessing around $2000? but then with $2000, people would probably just get a b-series

Seriously F*ck the non vtec K motor.
Its like buying a replica lambo or similiar, it looks fast, but is it really that fast?
p.s. I would not do it unless I got the rest of the parts to swap it in for dirt cheap. If it comes out to like 4 or 5 grand i would do a gsr swap.

i think that k series are over rated and they will eventually show their true colors.
might be a little faster that the average b series but meh...too much still.

i disagree. i think once the prices come down after the "k craze" that they will be a good alternative to a b swap.
they respond extremely well to simple bolt ons and are very reliable.

Word, whats blackdelsol talking about non vtec K's??? Its the same motor in the pic. For $1000, I think I will keep it and find a k20 head.

And that's what everyone use to say about the B. I remember back when i and my friends got into hondas, i said the only swap i'd ever do was a JDM type R. My friend said way too much money, funny thing is he ended up spending the 5k to put that in, and now everyone is spending 5k to put in the K. It's a vicious cycle Either way, type R, or K i love both engines. I still rock the D though

single cam boosted is the way to go...not really but it makes power...
a k20a head or a type r head is a waste of money cuz with that money you can buy alot of bolt ons for a k24 and make *** of power(cams, intake mani, etc) so search before you go and buy

did you even go and check, and read the info available on: http://www.k20a.org
those ppl at that forum have been doing k-swaps, every single kind, since before the craze started... before hasport even made mounts for the eg chassis...
imo, go there, read a dozen threads on the differences between the accord k24 and the tsx k24, rsx k20, civic si k20, etc, etc... before you go pick something up...
edit: so you posted the same question, and got 3 responses... that all told you too look more into it >.>

you will make way more power with a k20a head (wich is the type r head) . IMO should get a k20a head and a type r tranny and call it a day

if ur swappin in a k24a4 from an accord its a waste of time..it would be wise to bolt on a k24a2,k20a2, or k20a head and drop it in and u will make some nice power..if u were to put the head on the k24a4 block then u WILL need to switch out the pistons and rods for either aftermarket, tsx, or crv pistons and rods or u will have piston to valve contact
k20a3,k24a1,k24a4 doesnt have the real vtec like the k20a, k20a2,k24a2,k20z
