Default thinking on this(99 Si at Local dealer)

There is a 1999 Si at a local Honda dealer here in town that has only 1,100 miles on it

I know hard to believe, but apparently it was one of the Si show models for Honda North America. I have yet to go see the car in person and ask for any kind of documentation to this claim, but the catch is they want 16995 for it?!?!

Now Edmunds.com says only 9500 for the car is what a dealer should charge even with the mileage. So its a confusing debate. Is this an insane amount for the dealer to ask for? I just think its a dream, an Si completely untouched by ricer hands or anyones for that matter.

So should I tell the dealer they are out of their minds? Or go there with cash and see if they bite? Even try and work a deal?

heres the link to the car

The dealer is asking way too much. KBB value is $12,180 for dealer asking price, and excellent condition. Negotiate with them and see how low they will go. Never seen a 6th gen Si that low before.

For an Si with 1,100 miles, look on the FAR right side of the chart.

if anything, might as well get yourself and used em1 for $7-9k and use the rest to build the the car.

Are you going to let it sit as a collector's car?

If not, pass it up. Seriously. There is someone out there willing to pay that much for it having low miles. This will be really neat to see in ten years and there might be a collector willing to pay a lot of money for it then. Right now it's not very special, at least not at that price to a person who is planning to drive it regularly.
