Default Think you know transmissions?

I have a honda civic 95 ex with a H22A 95 prelude engine 5 speed. The problem is the engine is about to rip out the tranmission. At least that's what it feels like. I don't know much about transmisions. but is the tansmission from a 95 prelude too? like do the engine and transmission go together on an engine swap? or can you keep the stock 97 civic tranny with a h22 engine.

Either way i figure i need a new racing one. what would you recommend for my car? along with the flywheel?

Definitely could not put a D-series tranny on an H-series. What do you mean rip? Pics?

I'm not sure how hard a H2B is (H22 with B-series transmission) but I'm guessing if you don't know much about that, your best bet is to find another H-series tranny.

You can't fit a D-series tranny on the H (I think)

Unless someone makes an H2D plate.

uh-oh, you woke him up with this one

sounds like you know little, to nothing about anything, and could you explain what you mean by "ripping out?" be more specific, because your post doesn't really make sense (and no, there isn't an H2D kit available--to the best of my knowledge... and why would you want one anyway?!)

My bet is that you bought the car this way. If thats the case I would call up the person you bought the car from and ask them what transmission they put in.

bisimoto makes a h2d adapter plate, it is not a bad idea since d series tranny are cheap and have stronger gears than b series

It just feels really rough when I change gears, like when the gears engage like it just feels hard. How would i be able to tell if it's a D series or H series tranny in there?

and your right i don't know anything, that's why i'm asking. i want to learn.

And as far as that goes since you really don't know that much. You can use the Accord F-series tranny as a direct bolt on although I don't know why you would other than they are cheaper.

Either way if you do look into a different H Tranny then you might as well go LSD. 1200.00 LSD or 600 to 800.00 for no LSD. Unless you want to get good at replacing tranny's.

Like others said. If you take the time to explain your situation a little better. Test drive the car with no radio and **** on so you can concentrate on exactly what your Tranny is doing.

Then come back here and explain what when how everything is happening and I will bet that you will get better responses from the people that actually do know what in the hell they are talking about.

Hope this helps you.
