Think I could get $8,300?

Think I could get $8,300?
Here's the car again: 99 DX hatch
Here's the story. I bought the car, I am the second owner. I bought it at 52k miles and swapped my JDM ITR engine into it. Along with a few other things. It has about 60k on the chassis now (I have the accurate numbers written down somewhere)
I have a loan on the car for 8k.
I am putting it back to stock, but I sold the original engine.
I found a 2000 DX engine with 9,900 miles on it, with the original gauge cluster, and a reciept. From a wrecked car.
If I put that engine into my car and return it to stock again, you guys think I'd be able to get 8,300 for the car? I think it's a pretty good deal.. especially with such a new engine.
The title is CLEAN as hell! I have original inspection papers before I bought the car as well. All the work I've done to it. I bought it stock...
Here's what it would come with:
The 2000 DX engine w/9,900 miles
Matching gauge cluster, and the original one from my car too.
Pioneer CD player (200$)
The integra rims
Power Steering!!!
Keyless entry
I think it's worth 8,300 if I restore it with that engine I found.
Anyone think I could get that price? Keep in mind the title is clean, and all the work I've done myself.

well in MD here the blue book is $7,060 w/ 60k miles
so, with the fact that it doesnt have the original motor would lower that number even more, but the fact that new motor only has 10k on it is good, and asking more around 7,500 is reasonable...it all depends if you can find some ricer who is willing to pay that much for one...

hmm.
I still think I could.
There's people asking for MORE than this all over autotrader. I don't see why this isn't worth it. Especially since I've done everything to it, and I have all the documents and reciepts to show it. It's not like I'm selling a salvaged car with unknown history...
And "it's just a civic" too you, but the majority of the people who would be looking at it are looking for "just a civic"...

For a mom buying a car they want to be reliable I would guess you could get that much but not from someone wanting to mod it out because they will ditch that engine anyways.

Another way to look at it is that is a lot of money for a car that doesn't have a warranty. People who want to mod will look for something cheaper and people who just want a car will do the same, or go to a dealership where they can get some sort of warranty.

By the way, the value I found on my car is 9,330.

(link probably doesn't work)
I think it's a good price. Here's a description I came up with:
1999 Honda Civic DX. CLEAN and Accident free. Chassis has 60,011 legit miles on the gauge cluster. I’m the second owner. I used the car for 5872 miles with a 2000 JDM Type R engine. I am returning it to stock with a 2000 DX engine with 9,908 miles. I sold the original engine. I have EVERY reciept since I’ve owned the car, and ALL of the work has been performed by me. The new engine came out of a wrecked 2000 Hatchback, of which I have a reciept for with the VIN# and pictures. I have original inspection papers before I purchased the car as well. I am a mechanic in school and I can no longer afford this car because of my traffic tickets. I have LOTS of pictures of it, let me know if you need them. Questions? jarsar.legrand@verizon.net $8,000 FIRM
Reasonable?

no way you will ever get that, better off putting the dx in and tradding it in.
tradding it in will bite the crank, but if people look around they can pick an ek
hatch for around 3,500 and up so you will halft to find some one who is willing to spend top dollar for a stock hatch. Regardless if it's mint or not it's 4 years old
and used.why would you sell that car any ways? looks good....

Re: Think I could get $8,300? (twotone)
No way in hell you'll get that much. You're the second owner right? What did you pay? You ditched the original motor, which to most of "us" isn't that big of a deal. To your "everyday Joe" they might have a problem with that. On top of that, you got the "new" motor from a car that had been wrecked. Try telling that to someone and expect them to say, "Okay." How good of condition is that motor in. You can't prove anything to them if they ask you. Sure, you can do compression tests and yada, yada, yada, but it wouldn't make me feel any better. The reason I say this is that the person before you could've ragged the hell out of it and that's the reason for the wreck. There are just too many "what if's." Don't get me wrong, it's a nice hatch, but don't expect to get that much for it.

Don't listen to the nay sayers. You might not get that price selling it here, but list it in autotrader and see what you get. Yeah you can find cheap "eks," but a lot of people who want a civic are not enthusiasts. I sold my Si for signifigantly higher than blue book value b/c it was in immaculate condition. Wait for the right buyer, and you can get what you want for it.

I woulnt pay that much. Not downing your car, but... autorader has plenty of them that are way under 8K. Not to mention someone has been under the hood. I would rather have one that was untouched.

you dug yourself a hole, let us know how much u sell it for.
probably better off keeping the itr motor in there and selling, or find a way to pay off the bills
