Re: (axtran)
Vtec Head, intake mani, ECU , LS/Vtec kit, dizzy, water pump, timing belt, get the car wired(if it isn't already), I'd suggest ARP rod bolts and head bolt/studs, etc... My buddies DA ran 14.3 with a 2.4 '60 on street tires spinning on a stock LS/Vtec(did I mention he can't drive).
You should have enough to do LS/Vtec and turbo...That would be sick! Good luck with whatever decision you make.

^^ turbo's never "easier", although LS Turbo sounds quite nice for your budget

most gsr swaps run 3,000 +, just a gsr engine will run a minimal grand in good running condition. You can build an ls/vtec with forged internals and slightly bettter than stock vtec head for 2,000-2500 if you do the assembly yourself. This also includes the price of the machine work to ballance your crank shaft, hone your cylinders, and check all clearances at the machine shop. No since doing it if your not going to do it right. I like my ls/vtec alot, plenty of low end torque and being that you can buy an Si tranny for 500-700 bucks I'd only go with a GSR swap if you really have the money. Then again ls/vtec turbo is really sweet. I went ls/vtec becuase there was no way I could afford to buy a GSR swap, build it, and then turbo it. The very first ls/vtec was built buy a shop that destroyed a customers GSR engine and didn't want to have to buy him a new GSR motor.

Re: things have changed...going ls/vtec (dohcdelsol93)
Well heres the thing...I just recently bought a delsol with a b16 in it. Its got rear end damage so im gonna take my ls out and put the b16 in it. Now my question since i have all the stuff, what is it that im going to need? I may just buy a hatch and put the ls in that. I dont know. I've got options flying everywhere and itconfusing. Now say i were to buy a hatch. Which motor for it the b16a or the b18b? Sorry if what im saying is confusing...It's ust ive been running into awesome deals and i cant pass them up lol!

b16 = more rpms, vtec and hp
b18 = more torqe and longer stroke, we all like to have a longer stroke
