Thieves Lose!
As I walk out to my car after work, 7pm, I notice my stock black plastic roof wing is missing off my 93 Civic hatch. WTF?! I call security and the police department.
Security takes note of the incident. PD does the same, plus get damn good finger prints off my windows......
......they guys/gals who stole my OEM wing, tried to steel my whole car. Both of my windows had been popped out of the seal to try and flip the lock on the inside. Little did the thieves know that I was a dumb-*** that locked my keys in the car all the time, so I put an end to it. I removed the door locks on the inside to prevent myself from locking the door with the keys in the ignition and then closing the door with the keys in the car.
They must have been so pissed that they couldn't steel my whole car, that the OEM wing was good enough. They broke it off so bad that you can't even re-use it. So in the long run, they got nothing. I had a spare 16" rim, dvd's, torque wrench, full stereo, radar detector, and a cell phone inside. And it's all still mine!
As the officer is taking my report, I was informed that 2 hours earlier, a 96 Integra was stolen off the property. The same officer was called to me.
They may have got a now broken spoiler form me, but I still got to keep my car.

Re: Thieves Lose! (sirminder)
I'm already getting IM about "how to remove inner door locks". Kinda funny, but hey, it saved my car from the chop shop......and hopefully others cars too.

You are very lucky. I would NOT leave anything valuable in your car from now on. Next time a more "advanced" theif will take everything. Glad you still have your car.
