JDM_SOHC

I remember a while back when i had my old hatch i was having a thermostat problem and my neighbor and i were bullshittin one day an he said just take it out u dont need it, so i did and i dont remember any problems.. well now w/ diff car diff motor, d15b, i was just chillin next to my car like 30 minutes ago in my boys driveway and i heard "pshhhhhhhhhhhhh" and my car started overheating.. so i shut it off and realized that earlier in the day i took out the a/c fuse... its the 7.5 fuse under dash... what im wondering is, would taking out the a/c fuse make my radiator fan not work, and maybe i just didnt hear it or something? and if that is problem, do i really need thermostat??
