Default thermal stealth vs magnaflow universal?

i have a thermal catback on my 97 4dr. it's got a great sound, low and deep, but it's a little loud for my old ***. i used to love the super low note it has, but i think i'm outgrowing it, and want something quieter, more low profile. i also have a stock cat, and resonator (and yes it's still too loud), with a b18b. will the magnaflow be any quieter with this set up? i'm not talking about the polished canister type, but the brushed aluminum oval style. i've heard some sound clips on various honda's but they never specify exact set up. i also like the way the borlas sound on vw's. i need a muffler with the inlet and outlets centered, because of the canister set up of the thermal. any ideas appreciated. one more thing...i'm aware of the ws2, and rsr, but want something cheaper, and more plain. thanks.
