it wasn't archived
you can't use any integra OBD2B ecu in your civic because of the immobilizer, and JDM ecus dont have imm. but they also don't use the same U.S. protocols as us
so..you need a OBD2A ecu with a conversion harness
since your in CT, all the station has to do is plug in the OBD2 computer, scan the ECU, no CEL and you pass (given all I/M monitors a set to "READY")
if you were in cali they would probably bust your ***** about the conversion harness

Re: is there such thing as a obd2b gsr or itr (sicones)
so you would say get the older 96-97 jdm ITR and run a conversion harness for obd2a? would the 98spec run the same on a obd2a ecu? heard it has slightly better cams...plus it would be a little closer to the same year as my car...then i could find a usdm ITR ecu to run for emissions? obd2a ITR ecu's dont have imobilizers do they?

no OBD2A ecu has an immobilizer, the best one to get I think would be the 98 USDM ITR ecu, as far as the engine running better thing, the cams are not going to make much of a difference, the only thing I would worry about is the higher compression if it's a JDM spec motor 10.6:1 vs 11.1:1

Re: is there such thing as a obd2b gsr or itr (sicones)
i would only buy and run the USDM ITR ECU to pass emissions..with that said could i get the 98spec JDM ITR(obd2b) and run the JDM ECU (cause it has no imm) then when emission time come i can run the obd2b>obd2a harness and a 98 USDM ITR ecu that i will have to buy...hook up the secondary o2 sensor that are no exisent in JDM motors and ill be good to go?

would a usdm obd2a GS-R ECU work temperaraly to pass emissions if a US ITR ECU became a pain in the *** to find?

a GSR ecu won't work it will throw a code for the secondary butterflies and possibly a fuel metering/trim CEL
what you have in mind will work but the engine will run perfectly fine using a USDM ecu, there is no benefit of switching back to the JDM ecu

but i deff need a USDM ECU cause the scanners at emissions wont read a JDM ECU? correct?

correct, the JDM ecus do not use the same OBD2 protocols here in the USA, so any scan tool or station won't be able to communicate with it
