Default Is there such thing as a BAR Smog Ref hookup??

I got smog hookups for reg smog checks(many) and test only(fewer). So no problem there. However, I got sent once to the Bar State Ref a few years ago and it was a bitch to switch everything back to get it to pass. A few years later the car is now running on a motor that is a year older than the car and its also boosted. So for good reason I rarely drive the car because I'm paranoid that I will get my hood popped. I take the car to meets and plan on attending the Eibach event next month. I feel that its inevitable that I will get rolled by the popos and get my hood popped. So my question is: has anyone ever heard of a Smog Red hookup? I know everyone has a price. And I'm sure alot of people will pay top dollar to aviod the hassle.

So you would rather drop the coin on an illegal hookup, instead of just paying to have the car built right the first time around and never have to worry about legal hassles again?

As far as I know there is only 1 guy but I'm not sure if he is hooking up anymore. California laws are getting worse, they already shut down the BAR Ref stations. Even my stock eg won't pass smog, I think California is trying to get our 5 year or older cars off the streets so we have to buy new cars. It really sucks, my friend bought a car that was almost new and it failed smog. Like I said, its getting tougher. Hope they pass a law where small engines don't need smog check. Good luck

Here in Florida they removed smog/inspection all together a year before I moved here because I told them to, or else!!!.... Ok no.... but seriously, they removed it because they realized most of the cars are newer, and a huge amount of cars aren't even resident's of this state. Tons of tourists. In Cali you guys are strict on everything, but you allow LANE SPLITTING!??! WTF? And you people can legally ride go-peds without hassle!

Nice to know, I'll keep my ears open.

I was supposed to see a referee but now that the program was shut down I have to go a regular smog station. I just need to change a couple of parts and pay the fine. CHP asked to see under my hood and ... got cited, lol.

Good luck, hope they get rid of inspection and eventually smog all together. Most smog is caused from semi-trucks and buses that are out of state. I heard taking 1 truck off the road takes away 125 fail smog cars off the road. Smog is a waste of tax dollars since everyone have new cars now days.
