Yes, the JDM SiR1/2/3 were all available with an automatic transmission.

The LS transmissions will also fit.

You might want to start by calling hmotors first, as most don't list the automatics because they are not wanted, but most places should have some on hand.

I have one in my wifes EJ2 right now with an LS motor bolted to it. The main differences between the B16 Auto and LS Auto is the B16 Auto doesn't have the 2 solenoids at the back of the transmission facing the firewall on the left hand side. I had them side by side for comparison and saw the differences.

It doesn't use a TCM either. If you pull the Shifter into 2, the transmission starts off in 2nd gear, and some other oddity's like high rpms at 60mph

I wouldn't worry too much about getting a jdm tranny.

I'm sure the LS auto tranny will serve it's purposes to you.

It's very simple. Do an archived search for "auto manual"

Correct.

Always wondered; Doesnt the LS use a TCU? or is it also controlled by the ecu?
