Are there different Starters for D-series?
Subject: D16Z6
for manual and auto trannies, are the starters the same on both trannies?
also, can the axles from an auto be used on a manual?

If you're doing an auto-to-manual swap, you'll have to get the manual starter. On my 94 ej, d16z6, I went from stock ex auto tranny to a dx 5-speed and had to change the starter.

I agree, the starters are different for 96-00 also. Well I think the actual starter insides are the same but the bolt pattern between the two is different so you have to get the manual one or it will not bolt up to the transmission.
