Re: (cxSHOE)
Not sure but I think a Canadian Si was available with ABS and the US was not. I know the Canadian 4dr Civic EX-V (EX in the US) came with ABS.
I do know the Canadian Civic Si (as well as most of the Honda line after 92) came with daytime running lights.
And even though they're made in a certain country does not mean they are made only for that country. My Canadian EM1 was built in Ohio (like all EM1s) for the Canadian market and it is slightly different.
I don't think it would necessarily say "Made in Canada" anywhere on the vehicles, but there are Canadian Ministry of Transportation labels on them. The first three characters on the VIN is the easiest way to tell. JHM=made in Japan, 1HG=made in the US, 2HG=made in Canada.

It would be like that, except that not all European cars are RHD, only in the UK market. The rest of Europe is LHD.
And the Canadian speedometer has kilometer and miles, unlike the JDM ones which are only in km. Comes in handy when you're south of the border.

Don't forget the real difference...... we canadians only get the d16z6 in our Si, we have to get an SiR for a B series engine.... I've got a 94 Si coupe and don't have abs if that helps...

well you have no clue then.... our SiR is there Si... it cost the same.... amount of money so there is no difference in engine.. considering we have Si which is there Ex which has the same engine... and the 92-95 model coupes didn't come with abs... only the Si hatches did, the 94-95 coupes had an option to have abs but it was extremely rare

Wouldn't you think if buddy was gonna buy a Canadian Si in the states, he would probably want to know if he's paying for a B series engine car or a D series engine car??? I sure as hell would... just my 2cents

That doesn't make sense. Coupes came out in 94. And I thought the Si hatch wasn't available in Canada for 95. And the Si/SiR debate is moot; they were only available in 99-00, the orignal post was asking about the 93 model year.

Which is extremely odd, considering I was going to class last year, when I spotted a red coupe with those lame 'Girlie Girl Racing' decals all over it. I just so happened to see the girl getting into the car after class, as I also noticed she has disc brakes in the rear. I asked her who did the conversion, and she had no clue what I was even talking about. Turns out the car has been in her family since day 1 and it came factory. I was jealous of the rear discs, but not the ABS. Just some food for thought.
