Are there clips on the front bumper/side panel that hold it?

Are there clips on the front bumper/side panel that hold it?
I have a 98 Honda Civic EX, and sometimes at lights while idling, you can hear a small rattle. Years ago I had some body work and I'm wondering if a clip was not put in? I know if you hold the side of the driver side bumper boot near the fender the rattle goes away. Where should I look to see if the bumper boot is missing clips? I assume it attaches somehow to the bumper/fender? Thanks!!

Bumper boot? If the car does it when parked, just start looking around the area. Pull the bumper off and see if it still does it.

Yea, the boot cover (I think thats what they call it - the actual painted part over the inner core). Anyways, I see some black clips (round heads). Do these cheesy things hold the bumper "cover"/"boot" on? Seems kind of flimsy...

It's called a bumper cover or bumper. The metal piece under it is called a bumper (yep, same as before), bumper beam, bumper bar or crush. There might be some other names, but these are some common ones.
A boot is something like a axle boot or overseas, a trunk.
The parts that hold the bumper on are:
- 1 screw at the top corner of the bumper in each wheel well
- 2 bolts on the underside front of the bumper, about six inches back
- 1 screw on the underside front passenger side holding the airbox resonator (sometimes there is an identical screw on the other side)
- 7 plastic clips along the top of the bumper holding the bumper and grille to the core support
That's all.
There are some clips that hold the fender liner in, but they do not attach to the front bumper.
If you could take a photo for us or draw a picture that might help.

Thanks! This is not my car but it seems to be lose on this side especially near where its close to the fender and on the bottom where the black piece connects under the car.
Bumper cover is what I was thinking! Duh... **** I've spent too much time working on the suspension of my Scout...

No, its basically the whole side of the bumper (painted part) thats lose. You can grab it with your hand and move it. When looking underneath the part where the bumper connects to the black plastic "skid plate" is also lose. I was wondering if bolts or plastic pins hold this altogether??
