just save up and do a d16z6 or d16y8 and you will be happy. then later on you could turbo. Certainly that those motor are so fucken cheap to pick because everybody wants a Bseries. Trust me you wont regret it. THen after the swap get some nice wheel and sticky tires with a nice suspension and you will be happy.

don't listen to these guys, i have a d15b8 in my cx hatch. And here's what i did to get a lot more power for less than 120 bucks
$20 used dx 16valve head
$23 d16y8 head gasket (it's a metal gasket, you can use the normal d15b7 gasket but it's the same price and will give you lower compression, less hp)
$50 p06 ecu
$25 used 4wire o2 sensor
the swap is very easy, you don't really have to worry about any wiring except the conversion of 4wire o2 sensor. You don't need new sparkplug wires, no new distributor, no timing belt, adjustable cam gear, none of that ****.
Then if you do this and if you're not satisified, you're only in the hole 130 bucks.
####################
and now i'm getting ready to swap a d16y5 head on there for more hp and gasmileage.
####################
then after you do that, you can purchase a used dx transmission for cheap, (4 door dx/lx trannys have a 4.058 instead of a 3.888/3.7266 final drive so they're better)
I converted my **** slow econo drivetrain into a significantly quicker, peppier civic with less than 150 dollars (dx tranny was given to me)
the d15b8 block is the same as the d15b7. it's very rare that people will have the pistons w/ the 2 valve reliefs.
