Default Is there any way these front brakes be fixed easily/cheap?

Well, I bought these off a friend and had them in my garage for a while.
I finally decided to put them on when I saw that the rightside bolt
that goes through the lower control arm is cut and/or snapped.
I measured the length of the cut bolt and I'm pretty sure theres
no way the bolt will go through and be able to thread a nut.
I'm just wondering what my options are (cheap options lol).

Edit: Forgot to mention they are off 94 Civic Lx going onto a 94 Civic VX. Bigger rotor/caliper than the VX. I already tried just switching over the mounting bracket but that didn't work

Here's some shitty pics:

Left side (perfect)

Right side (cut)

EDIT: You'll have enough threads to get a nut on. You just won't be able to run a cotter pin. I don't think that that's that big of a deal. The ball joint seals with the lca pretty tight to begin with.

EDIT: 3 that's. lol

well, since the bolt that is cut is part of the lower ball joint, just replace the ball joint. THey loow kinda worn also.

A new lower ball joint can be har fow under $40

Just go buy a new balljoint. They're only like $20 from autozone.

A BFH works just fine, no need for a press

I would not roll without a cotter pin in there. If that nut comes off your screwed, and so are the people on your right driving next to you.

Drill a hole big enough to fit a cottern pin through your nut and thread.

Don't roll without a cotter pin in there. If that nut came loose and the knuckle and LCA became seperated - you're going to hate life all because of a tiny little cotter pin.

You do not need a press. If you have a bench vise and some big sockets, it'll accomplish the job. I believe there is also a locking circlip holding the ball joint in the knuckle - so make sure to remove that first.

Chris what do you think about this:

Now that I re-read it, that would work - if you could drill the hole.

I read it and thought to myself "There is no way there is going to be enough thread left over to try and drill a hole" - a second read was required.

So yeah, give that a go first to try and save money....you know what your alternatives are.

But the thing is if someone had cut the original nut/threads off, they would have cut it on the inside of the nut or flush with the LCA. Essentially leaving no room to thread on a nut in the future. Am I correct?

No, he cut right below the nut, then unscrewed the nut

I'm beginning to think he actually got the nut off but when trying to seperate the knuckle/LCA, he ended up mushrooming that portion of the ball joint stud - which is why its cut.

So you should have enough meat left on there to give this a go.

dont wanna give bad advise, but i and many other local honda friends have not used a single cotter pin in the front suspension for YEARS and have never anything ever loosen up or come off.
just so you know you will be safe driving to the store to pick up more cotter pins
