Temperature Gauge Random Spikes
So this problem happened to me about a year ago, and went away and now its back...
My temp gauge in my 99 civic lx sedan randomly rises and drops.
I have replaced the thermostat, fluids, and also theres a new radiator in the car.
It has 116k miles on it.. could the water pump be going?
I havent changed the timing or water pump yet.
Also all fluids are at correct level.

Re: Tempurature Gauge Random Spikes
Bleeding the cooling system takes 20-30 minutes:
1) Park the car on an inclined driveway with the front end higher than the rear.
2) Push the dash heater lever/**** to MAX heat.
3) Follow the directions in the diagram below

Re: Temperature Gauge Random Spikes
Please just start you own thread instead of dragging up a 3 year old thread.
More than likely bleeding the system fixed the issue for the OP and thus they never came back with a "Didn't fix, now what".
You can do the bleed properly like in the diagram above and if it doesn't work, create a thread with your car information, your issue and everything you've done to resolve your issue up to that point and you will get a much better response.
