Default temperature gauge

i've notice that my temperature gauge would drop everytime i would step on the gas and when i come to a complete stop it will go to the its normal temp as i push the gas the temperature gauge would drop. anyone know whats causing this?

It could be the gauge cluster needle? also could be the wire that is detecting the temp of the coolant usually a yellow wire right by the thermostat.

Would also check to see if that sensor is either bad or not plugged in all the way.
