Default temp and tranny question

since i have 2 topics i'll just put it in one post.
well the story goes i'm having trouble starting my car if it sbeen siting for a while. I've narrowed it down to the temp sensor. My local junk yard has a b18a motor and I was wondering if it was interchangable? and could anyone tell me which of the 2 sensors at the ending of the lower coolant hose it is. the next problem is my friends are telling me about bg tranny fluid. Same as GM syncromesh? any truth to this. thanks and helps owuld be really appreciated. need help on the temp. sensor asap.

your junk yard has a b18a and you are wondering if it is interchangable but you don't say what motor you have. Not sure about the compatability question, but the one at the end of the coolant hose controls the radiator fan. and, how did you narrow it down to that temp sensor?

sorry. haha, i forgot. i have a b16a. my starter is new, my battery is charged, and alt. checks out. that leaves temp sensor sensing the motor is too cold and dumping to much fuel in at start up. When the motor is warm then its fine.

If you have a fast idle thermo valve it might be the problem. Maybe it is always closed and is not allowing additional airflow when cold.
