Temp Issues Again

Temp Issues Again
Hi everyone, i just bought my EK4 B16A2 Vti.
Everything was just normal until i was in the highway and temp began to rise up to 3/4. I got scared so i put neutral, suddenly temp went down to normal. So i thought it was a gauge problem since i took off some indiglow gauges that previous owner bought. No big deal.
Since that day, this happened from time to time. I asked some friends, mechanics even posted here my problem and it all seemed to be thermostat or purge needed.
So i bought a new OEM t-stat. Last night we were installing it and we found out it had a not so old t-stat. We put in the new one and start the engine, waiting for the fan to start, and it didnt. It passed like 20 or more minutes and fan never started. Coolant began to rise from radiator (not exactly rise, but spill). We didnt understand, it was really late so we put in more coolant and went home. Today i had a track day, and everything was normal, but suddenly the same happened again....temp rised to 3/4 then returned to normal.
What can be happening???? T-switch?
Thanks!!!!

Re: Temp Issues Again
the original problem id say was the t-stat now u probably just have air the system from changing it out, try bleeding the coolant make sure it has no air bubbles. while ur on the freeway theres air blowing through the radiator keeping the engine cool so the fan wont come on, changing the fan switch bcuz it starts overheating on the freeway makes no since. its either the t-stat or water pump not doing their job.
