Temp gauge sensor cover chipped
I was lookin at the set up of my temp gauge sensor since I noticed for a while that my needle for the temp in my dash was jumping from the middle to C when I drive and would just jump back and fourth when driving but on idle it's fine. I was looking at it today cause I wanna replace the sensor that looks like a little nipple, and I was cleaning the black cover that covers it and I chipped it. Any way I can make it wrk somehow when I replace the sensor can I tape it or something? I have 00 Honda civic si if that helps B16A2 motor

Make sure when you replace the sensor to cover the hole with your thumb because coolant will gush out. That happened to me in an autozone parking lot when i replaced my coolant temp sensor. So much coolant got on the exhaust pipe that i almost caught on fire as i left the pArking lot. Luckily there was a news crew there and caught the whole thing on tv.

OP if they still clip i'd clean them off and maybe put some electrical tape over.
