Temp gauge prob.
I have a '92 Civic DX hatch w/ a D15B7... anyways, blew a head gasket a couple of months ago, and finally got around to fixing it last week. Well, I have an auto, so you know how the gauge cluster is (temp, speedo/odo,fuel).. my temp gauge isn't working and I can't seem to figure out on my own what's up with it. It worked before the head gasket blew, now when I turn the ignition, instead of going up from the down position, it steps backward about a mm or so and stops and drops back down when I shut the car off.
The car had a problem w/ running hot because of the headgasket & a faulty sensor on the thermostat housing (i had to hot-wire the fan at the connector to the thermostat housing sensor, but the gauge still worked). All that's fixed and the only thing left is the temp gauge. Can someone help me with this dillema?

Re: Temp gauge prob. (Xero Civic)
Take the wire off the sensor(should be a single wire) and ground it out. Turn your ignition on and the guage should peg(all the way hot). If it doesn't, you have a guage or wiring problem. If it does, the sensor is bad.
