temp gauge not working

temp gauge not working
i got a new car its a 93 hatch with a d16z6 swap in it. He has it wired up so that the fan comes on when you turn the key and the temperature gauge never moves when i drive it. is that ok to leave it like that?

I wouldn't drive it like that. Does the temp rise at an idle? Is the temperature sensor on the tranny side of the head hooked up?

it looks likes everythings there, im thinking maybe its not hooked up on the cluster since it wasnt originally a vtec car or cluster. also when i turn the key the check engine light doesnt come on, and clutch sensor is deleted. also has a new ignition switch, idk if thats why he rigged everything up
