Re: Tell Us What You Did To Your EG/EK/Del Sol Today
Not yesterday, but a while ago.
Me and my father resurrected my ej8 from the dead.
We bought it salveged and repaired everything.
The thing had been crashed into a pole or.something and the entire front right of the car was damaged.
Frame rails were bent to the left. A lot of frame damage and the wheel hubs, axels, and motor mounts needed replacements, and the car needed a new battery.
Thing was in terrible condition.
It still kinda is, as I still need to correct the frame by a tad 1/2 inch, but it drives like a champ again.
Also it looks like the Ferio Vi-RS. I plan to make it a clone someday.

I'll get some good pics this weekend, but it's a dooozy haha yea I'll keep both but as of now the teggy sits at a dealership my friend works at so I'll have to dedicate some serious time with it there, snag some parts and tools and get it chuggin along. First things first though, will be the driver side exterior door handle. There kind of isn't one at the moment, should've seen my face when I went to get in it

I think the Nexens are supposed to be the summer tire, and the white walls are supposed to be the winter tire. Also, when driving in snow, you want thinner tires. When driving on ice, you want fatter tires. It's kind of a catch-22 for the average driver. Either way...the offset and width of the wheels, and size of the tires is all sorts of wrong

Regardless, I dislike stretched tires with a vengeance.
There was a ghetto rider parked a couple blocks down from me, last winter was incredibly vicious (-27f with wind chill), car sat on the driveway, guess who's stretched tires popped off of all four rims?

But please, keep telling us how "cool" is more important than safety and performance. Then check what section you're in, and head off to the appearance/cosmetic forum, and the wheel/tire forum. You might find someone to hump your leg there.

your car is an extension and expression of yourself.
don't let the bullies in these forums tell you what you should and should not do with your car.
rock on man.

175 is too much in my opinion, (mine are 195 like 1/2" stretch) but be it far from me to tell you what to do with your own cash. we should be building these rides for what we like, not what others like.

I have 315s on my 17x9" C5 Z06 Replicas and it looks nothing like the "stretch" I see here. The tread extends out over the rim, not the rim extending past the tread.
315s are a tad too wide for 9" rims, but the Nitto NT05s run thin, so they fit decently.

I never understood this stupid stretch crap. It looks like the tire is too thin for the width of the rim. Don't you mean the opposite?

......So these morons put way too skinny tires on a very wide rim.
lol idiots.

me personally im using just enough stretch to not have the tire go past the side of the rim, allows the use of wider tires and a wider stance, they stretch only like a 1/4" a side and 1/2" overall. allows the tire to fit into the fender well on wheel compression.
That was my suggestion to the op, minimal stretching. As far as the super stretched tire I'm not into all of that, but to each his own, if that is what he likes then so be it!
