Yep, ignition cylinder broken off. Still don't know how they do that without damaging the key side. Dead battery so car didn't start thankfully but they took it. Same thing happened last 3 times, always steal my damn battery. So now I need a replacement ignition, the column covers and the lower dash cover. Also a replacement wire for my alarm receiver.

1998 EK Coupe Dx. In it's original form, D16Y7 Auto, now a D16Y8 5spd. Vitara build with Eagle Rods, Arp head studs, Skunk2 Intake, Skunk2 Cam and 70mm Throttle body. Turbo kit here but install won't be until after break in period is complete. P28 Hondata s300 V3 ECU is on it's way along with fuel rail and wideband. This is gonna hurt some feelings

Lots of exhausting work yesterday. Welded flanges on my sedans cat so it would bolt up to the header correctly, got it in line with the Integra sedan midpipe and finished it off with a base RSX muffler. Before the cat was welded to the oem midpipe. Since I had to modify it to fit the new header I figured I'd just go dumb and waste a bunch of time putting things "right". Now it's so quiet all I can hear is an ugly alternator bearing. Also fixed the muffler on my hatch that had fallen off thanks to garbage welding by a previous owner. Likely the same one who welded the hollow cat to the dc header.

My AC quit working today in 900° Destin. My wife started melting, and we had to wipe the baby up and wring her out into her car seat cup holders. Lol
I suspected an issue with the wire going to the clutch coil. IT’S THE HARDEST WIRE TO GET AT IN THIS CAR. It’s under the alternator and above the compressor, but there’s no room to do anything without getting burned on either the 8,000° exhaust or the much cooler 1,500° alternator.
I’m 5+hrs away from my wiring tools, so we stopped by autozone to pick up a test light. When I reached to disconnect the wire, one end pretty much fell out of the connector. I was getting +12v there with key ON; so I cut the connector off the other end, stripped back the wire, spontaneously combusted, and touched the bare ends together while I was aflame. Voila, compressor clutch engagement.
Doused myself, went back in, and bought some crimping pliers and red butt connectors.
Back at the car. Flame on. With one arm burning on the alternator and the other one sizzling on the downpipe, I managed to get both wire ends in the connector and crimped.
Family is cool again and resolidified. Yay vacation.

Ordered custom cams from a manufacturer who has come out of retirement to do this for me. Pretty wicked.
Talked with OS Giken on Memorial Day about fluid and configuration/setup for their Honda Super Lock LSD.
Build moving forward...

I saw some chick at a service station with an EK sedan like mine a few months back and asked her if she wanted to sell it. We exchanged numbers. Well, today she messaged me. She’s asking $700 for the thing. The interior looks like it could use some good cleaning, and it needs a front bumper cover. I might pick it up to flip, idk.
