Tein SS Install... how to, anyone?
Does anyone have a how to for the installation of the Tein SS coilover? I'm having some issues (probably due to my own stupidity when it comes to working on this car).
I took the old top mount off the OEM shock and put it on the SS, and then took the SS and attempted to install it on the car. When I put it on the car, I mounted it in the damper fork and then bolted the damper fork in place only to notice that there was about 1" between the top of the coilover and where it should bolt in up in the engine bay. WTF?
Can someone help me out a bit? I'm probably just being stupid, but I don't want to wreck the coilover.

I've got a 95 del Sol VTEC. There is a LOT of gap. should I just jack up the LCA and deal with it?
Btw, feel free to IM me at qsilver074 (AIM).

It's the right kit for my car, but If I put the old shock next to the new one, you can see that the new TEIN is physically shorter than the old one. The TEINs are for a 92-95 EG.
Thing is, should I just put a jack on the LCA and bring it up to where it should be?

That's to be expected. I think the Teins have a shorter spring so you'll have that gap there until you drop the car back down and put some weight on your suspension. I have SS's in my EM1 and haven't had a problem. But if I remember right there was a gap there. The back is a real pain unless you have somebody there to help you by putting the nuts on while you filt up on the back suspension. It'll be fine.
Also, maybe you have the ride height adjusted all the way down. Make sure they're as high as you can get them when installing them. After you have all 4 in, adjust them down to where you want the ride height to be.

Re: Tein SS Install... how to, anyone? (qsilver074)
I just did my install of my SS last weekend. The stock shock comes bracket which is the mount for the brake lines. Make sure you are using that cause it slides around the shock before the fork. If you don't use it it might cause the shock to slide further down the fork then you want it to, causing your 1 inch gap. I thought at first this bracket was welded on to the stock shock, but with a deadblow and a screwdriver you should be able to dislodge it from the stock shock.
