Tein SS coilovers
What's up guys, just wanted to know if anyone has Tein SS (Super Street) coilovers on their civics? Specifically anyone who has a 1999-2000 Civic Si. I was gonna get some good shocks and springs: Koni yellows/ H&R sport springs, but figured I could spend more and get the TEIN SS coilovers. The peformance shop I get parts from recommended them. I can get them for roughly $1k. What do you guys thin?

They are decent coiovers. For another months saving you can get the RE's which have the lower adjustment collar and they are all aluminum. I've seen the SS for about $900 in Texas. So ask your shop if they will beat competitors prices. My $.02

$1000 for some tein SS' is retail price. i've seen them go for a lower price. if you can get a good deal on them, i think you should go for it. if you can save little bit more money, go for the tein ha's.

Didn't get a price yet, put they would be in $900-950 range. I don't need the REs or HAs. Do they still make HAs? I have a TEIN brochure, they list: SS, CS, RA, RE, RS, N1, and HG. I just need improved handling over stock with adjustability. I'm no hardcore racer. Thanks guys.

Re: Tein SS coilovers (00MRSi)
I just put the Tien SS on my 92 Cx. Very nice, same dampner as the HA's. I had the HA's on my 99 Civic Si, they were great.
The SS and HA are steel bodied so put some anti-seize under the collars so they won't lock up. That is the only complaint I've heard about the Tien's, and it's easy to fix I got my SS's in the $850-$900 range.

Email Dan (Godspeed). He usually has pretty decent deals on Tein stuff, and he is an authorized dealer (very important IMO).

Re: Tein SS coilovers (00MRSi)
I have no personal experience with them, but a friend in the local car club had a set on his 2000 SiR coupe (that's the Si for you US people). He had some very bad luck with them. To make it short, one of them failed on him after only 4 months... not exactly what it was that happened. He's now running a Tokico full coilover setup. I haven't talked to him in a while so I don't know how well they're running.

Re: Tein SS coilovers (ryanhook)
Any details on how it failed? If the car was bottoming out, that'll make quick work of destroying a shock.
On a side note, Koni Sports and some Ground Controls are an excellent setup for the same money. All of this is readily available and easily serviceable in the continental US.
