Default tein RE's or RA's

for daily driving and "weekend warrior" , which would you all go for and why? Just trying to get some justification...can't make up my mind on which I want. I rode in a hatch with the tein SS and wasn't pleased. call me crazy but I want my car to have a "stiffer" ride.

opinions please....

RE, simply because it can adjust height without upset the preload.

don't you think thats a little too much for a weekend warrior/daily driver?

why don't you get some SS's or HA's with a stiffer rate. Anything more for your purpose would be a waste of money imo.

I would even get the SS with the DC2 spring rates 1st. I honestly don't see a need to go any stiffer.

the SS are too bouncy for some people. i have the HA's now in my EF hatch and it's fairly stiff...16 way adjustability is hella sweet. the RA's are the full race version of the HA, i believe. i don't have any experience with the RE's but i suspect they are stiff as all hell compared to the HA's. ask vtecvoodoo i think he has RE's or RA's with external oil reservoirs....
he'd know for sure...

some people opt to get the RA's/RE's b/c they are aluminzed shock bodies - us east coasters have to deal with rain/snow/salt etc, so people dont want their pretty green suspesion rusting

i dont think SS with heavier spring rate will help. it only speeds up the overhaul period for the shock.

RE's and RA's have the same spring rate (14K front and 10K rear), the only difference between the two is that the RE is monotube
Aren't the HA's going to be discontinued?

i think you are refering the difference between HA and RA/RE, right?

RA/RE are both mono tube, HA is not.

I thought that the RE's were only monotube, thanks for clearing that up.

HA's are discontinued in America. I got a used set and they work great.

spring rates are 8K front and 5K rear.

The SS's on the other hand have a softer rate 7K and 3K.

well for number purposes and to get an idea...not 100% sure but assuming stock spring rates are about 250 lbs/in. the tien RA's and RE's are 783 front and 559 rear, big difference.

it is a big difference, but i've heard a number of people here with similar spring rates say they love them for both street and track. i guess it's just personal preference.
