Is it a good idea to put these on a daily driven civic? What are the pros and cons of topping off my SS's with these? Is it that much more stiff compared to OEM mounts?

daily street, you will hear alot of noise. and it will be just slightly harsher. if youcan stand the noise go for it.

eventually they will fail because they were not made for the street.

what type of noise? and what do you mean by "eventually they will fail"? do you mean to say that the bearing encased in the hat will break/warp?

noise like you havent bolted the top of the coilover to the body. and yes for the bearings. but ofcoarse it will take some time and constant hammering of the coilover. so i would say the bearings will be fine. and it is more the noise and the slightly harsher ride.

i would stick with oem rubber top hats. but thats just me.. i have an extra set if you need them also..

does the car drive noticeably different with the pillow ball mounts? u have an extra set of rubber top hats or pillow ball mounts? I drive my car daily, and after putting on me Tein SS i love the ride that much more. So i figure why not finish the setup with the pillowball mounts for an even better ride.

well the better ride is not very noticible with the tein ss setup using the pillow ball mounts. ive driven the car are brand new laid asfault and on smooth concrete and also on somewhat unsmooth. and using the oem top hats is much better. and the smooth quality is not felt by myself.

i went from pillow ball to oem mounts and i sold the pillows. and i have extra oem top hats which you already have.

so in other words its not a night and day effect for the better. in my opinion is worst. if using it for street use....

using pillows on smooth surface is the same between the two , the noise is not hear and i couldnt tell if handling or smoothness had changed.

thanks for the good info. I suppose I wont be getting the pillows since i use my car on the streets.

np i dont want to stear you away from them. if you want them get them. but its really not a better solution over using the oem tophats in my opinion.

well the thing is i figured that since its manufactured by tein for the SS it would be a good product to complete their coilover. I was willing to sacrifice a stiffer ride for better steering response, but if its going to make noise (not like i dont have enough squeaking coming from my LCA bushings) and put extra wear on the shocks, all for the price of $300, i think i will pass.
