Default tein damper adjustment

What is the proper way to adjust teins (HA's) What way is soft and what way is hard (if your standing on the side of the car. Also is it ok to have either the front or back to have a softer setting then the oppsite side? What is a good setting that people have found which makes bouncy-ness on the highway speeds less nocible?
