Default Tein Basics

How are these coilovers?

I want to lower my car, and having something that will be stiff and handle well

Are these too "mild"?

Been covered time after time. Crap. Get Koni Yellows/GCs if you want to spend that kind of money. Plus that setup I mentioned is adjustable.

I wouldn't call them "crap", just not bang for the buck...

Ask vtecvoodoo, he sells them. He's refused to even sell them to people for the very reason that they are crap. Why people are willing to pay 800+ dollars for a non adjustable setup is beyond me. I guess because it says Tien on it?

I personally have them...Crap is ebay coilovers/stock shocks...They ride nice, handle good, there all i need in a suspension. Would i pay regular price for them? No. But for the price i paid i don't think they can be beat.

Get the GC/KONI setup for the money you'd spend on the basics or spend a little more and get the SS units that are damping adjustable.

Basics are not crap. I would buy Basics over a spring/shock combo because on the Basics, the spring is matched to the shock body. Therefore you can lower as you want without worrying of blowing your shock and replacing it after 1 year. Besides - you can get Basics for well under $700 nowadays. They get my vote. And unless you are autoX'ing, you do not need adjustables.
