Default Tech help needed for a site noob!!

Just stumbled across this forum and am hoping to find the answer to a problem I have!

I have a '96 Civic SiR. It has been having an idle issue for some time now and I ve been scratching my head till the penny finally dropped last night I may have an air lock in the coolant system. Here are the symptoms:

Before bleeding the system, upon pulling up at a junction or whatever, the revs would climb to 1500rpm then sharply drop back to idle then back to 1500 and back to idle and so on and so on! Now I've bled the system its GREATLY improved but not totally. It now climbs to 1500 just the once, then drops to 1250, hovers there for 10-15 secs before returning to normal idle.

Should I try bleeding it again just in case there is some more air in there or should I start looking toward changing the IACV?

Thanks in advance for any help!

If you blead your system i would move onto checking and cleaning(or replacing. what ever you prefer) the IACV

Hmmm yea...I think that'll have to be the plan! Was just thinking that the IACV is pretty much the highest point of the coolant system and that would mean any bubbles would end up there which would cause my problem! Will try IACV, if that doesn't work then it's back to the drawing board!
