Default Tec and Hitachi Distributors

Hey... new to the EG/EK forum (I'm a CRX guy). I've been trying to get my mini-me (A6/Y8 with A1 pistons) running. I think I need a new dizzy, and I've found there are both Tec and Hitachi. The only thread I've found with useful info is not verified, but it said the Hitachi unit is just for the HX model civic. My head came from a 98 EX. Also when I look at the Honda part catalog it says the same thing. So anyway, I got the dizzy I have from a CX hatchback with a D16Y7 in it at the junkyard, but I know the ICM says Hitachi... so maybe I'm running a Hitachi dizzy? What would happen if I had the wrong one? What happening now is, the engine won't run without advancing the dizzy a lot, and then when it does run it's very rich and bogs out/hesitates, not really driveable. I'm converted to OBD1 using a known good P28, and I also tried it on a P72 and it did the same thing.
