Default tdc'ing the block and head seperately?

Hey everyone...

I've got a head and block taken apart from eachother. Came from two different cars. Both from 1993 Civic CX's.

The head has the distributor on it and all, is it okay to turn the camshaft pulley so the pulley is set with the UP, up and the little left and right marks inline with the top of the motor? Will the distributor be set along with the head?

And with the block. Is there a marker somewhere down there on the crankshaft pulley that I turn and set it to tdc? Or do I just rotate it until the first piston is at it's highest point?

Once the head and block are set to tdc... just assemble?

I've searched around a little bit, but everyone talks about tdc in terms of a complete fully assembled motor.

Thanks everyone.

I think you need to buy yourself a book. Im dont meen to sound rude or anything but it will help you learn more about your car. Go here its one of the best books you can get. http://www.helminc.com/helm/ho...65VQ5 To answer your question though, yes there is a mark on the crankshaft pulley to set it to TDC.
