Tanabe Super Hyper Medalion Exhaust System - Any Feed Back?
1: I searched - Found some topics - read them all - AND couldn't find much about performance, sound or video...Although I did find a picture of it on an EJ coupe and it looked great.
So heres the thing -
Im in the market for a new exhaust and was considering an ES OVAL with 2.25" piping but I came across the Tanabe Hyper Medalion Exhaust system...Looks a bit pricey but Im willing to pay if it will be worth it...
Its made from stainless steel and offers a 100mm or a 115mm Tip. Also, Tanabe ensures a 90mm clearance....
Average price- $499 big ones....
Now is where you guys come in -
Does anyone have any experience, videos, pictures or sound clips of this exhaust system? Im very interested and would greatly appreciate any help...
BTW: This is going on a 1992 Si with the stock D16Z6 Sohc Vtec motor.
Thanks in advance

Re: Tanabe Super Hyper Medalion Exhaust System - Any Feed Back? (Si.Hatch.92)
ive got it on my del sol, and the fit was the best of any exhaust that ive owned, ive previously owned 3 others on my crx and del sol, and this one is by far the best fitting and the quality is superb, the sound is quiet, and it gets louder once vtec kicks in, but that could also be the type r headers. you get what you pay for, and i think its worth it! remember what axl rose once said "friday nite is going up inside her again, well crack the whip cuz that bitch is just insane"

well the hyper is identical to the G-power exhaust.. except the tip.. overall the g power was a good exhaust.. had it for almost 3yrs before I sold it off..but if I would choose another exhaust I'd get the RS*R .. did u happen to check that out over at turboimport.com.. I believe they have the egs for like 360shipped

Re: Tanabe Super Hyper Medalion Exhaust System - Any Feed Back? (IM ALL BOB)
I dont have alot to say about the hyper medallion....but I am allabout Tanabe quality...I have the super racing medallion and love it. Loud and ricey looking...wish it LOOKED like the hyper, but the tone is kinda mean. So...if that makes you any more comfortable about the price....
like he just said..."you get what you pay for"

yeah i have the g power on my sol and love it
it has a real nice tone and is not too loud
and if you are looking for quality, i can't say enough about tanabe
my friend has a greddy evo and the damn thing is starting to rust already
i have had mine for over twice as long and it's still bright and shiney with no rust
everything installed like magic, not damn thing bad about it

I too had the G- power Medalion on my Sol, somewhat similar to the Hyper Medalion. Overall, I give the exaust a perfect 10. There was no problems with fittment, and the exaust tone was just perfect, not too loud and yet not too soft. I loved it when the driving it a high rpm's. IMO by far one of the most highest quality exausts out there.

i have the Tanabe Super hyper medalion exhaust system on my 97 civc ex coupe
and i love it. It is nice and quiet at idle, can bearly even hear it, but when u drive it
gets louder. The muffler is huge and the tip is long, but you can hardly notice.

I have the hyper medallion on my 95 coupe with a stock 1.6 SOHC motor and I love it. Real nice tone and the quality of the fitment is great. I've never had any clearance issues at all and my car is dumped (probably 2-3" from stock). Lemme see if I can find a pic before my rear lip was put on (it covers most of it now).

Re: Tanabe Super Hyper Medalion Exhaust System - Any Feed Back? (Si.Hatch.92)
I have it on my coupe, and I have to say that I don't have any complaints.. it sounds nice... just the right level for me... you'll hardly notice it at all at idle, and you won't hardly hear it at all when cruising... just step on it a little and it growls.
I modified mine a little bit. I hacked about half of the tip off so it didn't stick out too far, and I bent the furthest rear hangers up just a little so it fit nicely into the half-moon on my bumper.
Here are some pics WITH the modifications: http://roots.zapto.org/~mjohnston/081702/

I LOVE YOUR CAR !!!!!!!!!
Wanna trade for a 92 Si hatchback? lol sometimes I wish i would of gotten a coupe for some reason....
that exhaust reminds me of the Apexi WS with the shortened tip but it looks really good man!
any sound clips or anything like that?

Thanks for the compliments
lol... no trades right now, I just crossed to the darkside with the greddy SOHC kit, I'm finally getting everything working good now so I'ma keep it for a while.
I don't have any sound clips, but I'm headed to the dyno tomorrow and a guy's going to film it so if he gets it all uploaded I'll post it tomorrow or the next day.
