Default Tanabe Racing Medalion ?

Any of you guys have any comments/experiences with this full catback exhaust?

Is it loud with and without silencer? How's the performance?

Thanks

2 friends had it, one on an EG, the other a Del Sol, both had GSR swaps, and it was incredibly loud. With the silencer, it's not so bad, but that did slow them down. When the Del Sol added a test pipe, oh my god it was loud!

I had one on my 94 DX..it was pretty loud but not overwelming..it makes a really nice deep sound at lower rpms. As for the performance I couldn't really tell you cause it was on a crappy DX motor.

I had Tanabe Racing, sound was great, really, really nice and worth it.

http://www.Mackinindustries.com told me the piping was between 2.25"-2.50"

I love mine. It can be loud, but the sound is really nice. You will lose a little power with the silencer, but what do u need the extra 1 hp for on the street anyway?

i had one on my old car (93 DA) it is a nice exhaust, but it is way too loud IMO.
on the highway i could barely hear my stereo. if you like loud exhausts you will love it.

I've got the TRM on my '98 Civic EX, and it's sooooo nice... It's got a nice, throaty growl to it at lower rpm, but SCREAMS at 5k+.... And that's on a basically stock D16 with no header....

I can't wait to hear what it sounds like on the B18C swap with the DC 4-2-1 I just ordered...

I had a Tanabe Racing Medallion on my VX and it was crazy loud without the silencer and I have a factory GSR header + cat. I put it on my 91 CRX and bought an ES oval for my VX. With a silencer in it isn't that bad, but if you have a vtec motor it can get raspy in the upper rpm's.

If you're looking to go Tanabe but don't want the roar of the Racing Medallion get the Hyper Medallion. I just finished up installing mine on my 5g coupe tonight, and it's super sweet. Nice deep tone when you get on it, but fairly tame just cruisin at 3 grand. Not sure about any power gains, but anything's gotta be at least a LITTLE better than the stock system.

I'll try to get a sound clip of it sometime soon here... if I can figure out how to transfer from a recorder onto the comp.

Do you want one? My friend is selling a full cat-back or just the muffler. Pretty damn cheap too. Email him for info.

Loud, but sweet. I love the deep tone it gives. No high pitched weed wacker sounds here. I've had it for about 1 to 1 1/2 now. Still in great shape. Used the silencer a few times. It helps a little bit.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions guys.
I just wanted to know some of your opinions because I might be replacing my 5Zigen Fireball with the racing medalion.
