Just got a 2000 Civic and I'm loving it however I'm encountering a wee bit of an issue. I have like 1 inch head clearance from the roof of the car while driving. I'm 6'3 and seems like I can manage in the car, but I was wondering if there was something I could do to potentially lower the seat a bit or something in order to get enough room above my head for a hat or possibly hair....

Any other folks with this problem? Were you able to resolve it somehow?

i know del sol seats sit lower, find a set on CL and swap your ek rails to them. OR buy some super expensive seat like a bride and a low down rails and you will have LOTS of head room. they prob drop 2-2.5" maybe more never measured

Integra GSR 94-01 seats sit lower then your Civic seats as well. 98+ being the lowest. Personally I think Del Sol seats sit lower but are not as comfy.

afaik there is a "lowprofile" seat rail available for civic's and integra's that being said the ITR recaro's sit low too low imo but I like the looks lol.

Im 6'4 and didnt have an issue with headroom when I had OEM seats.


I position the back of the seat so my wrist sits on top of the wheel which puts my head further back.

Now I have Sparco seats and I still have no issues.

I am in a 94 civic hatch with integra seats and I have tons of room. It is only when I wear a helmet that I have inches to spare. I am 6'3 225lbs.

i agree with del sol seats, best option. they sit ridiculously low

i miss driving around in del sol seats, so comfy and they hold pretty well for a oem seat

Im 6' and when I had EP3 seats in my hatch my head damn near touched the roof. I replaced those with an SR3 and Recaro spg sear with Bride fg rails... I sit on the floor now, its great.

im 6'4 in bone stock 98 civic... no issues but my head is even with the pillar and there is virtually no room behind the seat. Knees still knock the dash but lowering the seat wont fix any of that.

im 6'2" and drive a 93 del sol si.no issues,and the sol seats are comfortable.
