A loud ricey sounding car. By the way if your doing this for performance reasons its not worth it.

Negative. I have no cat with ITR exhaust. barely a sound out of it.

Honestly did you get anything out of removing your cat? Just put it back and save a tree or possibly a fine.

About the ricey sounding car comment I made earlier. Just yesterday I took off my CX exhaust manifold with a cat on it because I already had a hi-flow cat, no need for two cats. Well I replace the exhaust manifold with a stock DX manifold and it sounds like ****. I speak from experience that your car would sound like a fart can. I already ordered a 20" resonator to lower the exhaust note.

from my experience taking off the cat doesn't do much for performance and makes the car sound like ****.
as stated above, just keep it on and save a potential fine.

I have that muffler too, and I used to run a test pipe. It sounded like ****, way too raspy. I added a resonator, didn't help. I put a high-flow cat on, now it sounds great, and no change in 1/4 et's (best before vs after comparison I have). more back pressure didn't help me at all (i'm NA), but it didn't restrict my exhaust either. A much much much better exhaust note, and not having to smell gas fumes are reason enough to run a cat.

you have an oem muffler, try a test pipe with a straight-through muffler and you'll understand.

Cali's air has been fucked up since before most of us was born. just buy some gas mask's and call it a day because it not going to get any better. unles they build the worlds largest fan and blow all that mess out toward new mexico or something.
atlanta emissions= chimney smoke

Re: (Mr. JDM-GSR)
I dont have a cat on my car but i also dont have emissions. But i didnt replace it with a test pipe, I put a resonator there in its place and i think my exhaust sounds damn good (has 2 resonators now).

...upwards of $25,000 in fines if you get busted. Call your emissions if you dont believe me.
It wont effect gas milage in any amount you would notice.
It wont effect power in any amount you would notice
It will most likely make your car louder sound worse
It will make your car smell like CO from the extra run out
It will get you pulled over for having both a bad exhaust smells and most likely for being too loud.
You may get towed if they check your exaust and see no cat.
Then you may get fined.
Does that seem worth it?

agreed. and save yourself the trouble b/c its not worth it. and slowly the rest of the country is starting to get stricter like cali is. Texas is passing laws and everything else making emissions more strict. just leave the cat alone. and only remove it to replace with another cat. you wont see any benefit.

Re: Taking Off the cat will result in..... (Vero)
hey guys i have a 00 civic hb, and you know where the cat is located on those model, but when i did my motor swap, i didnt added a cat back on i just upgraded from my dx exhaust to GSR exhaust, look stock from front to back but no cat and it is very quiet in my opinion.
i know from previous post, it is not good for some states, but i do notice on my car since there is no cat i do smell rich in the back, but it could be my car not idling correctly so i dont know hehe once that is fixed we willl see how it goes.

correct, I must of written that too quick. But yeah CO is orderless. Its the extra gas and exhaust fumes that make it reak.

Absolutely. Don't bother. It's going to make your car louder, stink, and not pass inspection.
