Re: taking the cluster out (sohc_civic)
search.
there are 2 screws holding the plastic cover on, and another 1 hidden behind the hazard.
then 4 screws take ur cluster out. can be done in 5 mins tops

Watch out for the one behind the hazard switch. I broke that one putting in a jdm guage cluster. Doesn't mess with the guage cluster though.

Re: (Vtecin94dx)
Yeah man, I almost broke my dash, then I realized that screw. Its tricky the first time you do it, but if you do it a 2nd time, it can be done easily.
3 screws to actually remove part of the dash, 2 on the top, 1 underneath the hazard lights, and 3 clips that hold the vents to the dash. After thats off, I believe theres 1 screw (maybe 2, I cant remember) remove those and slide the cluster out, it may get stuck on the way out, just jiggle it until it comes out. remove the 4 (maybe 5 plugs) out of the back, and you have a free cluster. Hope this helpls.

Re: (BADEG6)
Yeah but... Knock on wood, someone steals your car, they'll have a REAL easy time stealing part of your dash and cluster. It may be a bitch, but if you've done it a lot, its pretty easy.

(pics wont work until we-todd is back up but i'm gonna post it anyway)
First, take these two screws out:
Then, pop your hazard switch out:
Make sure you pull this plug out:
There is a screw behind there:
Then, gently pry away at the trim piece, there are about six or seven clips holding it in. Pull on it until it comes out, don’t worry if you break any of the clips, all of mine are gone Make sure you don’t forget the plug behind the clock:
Now we gotta remove the gauge cluster. There are two screws, here:
And here:
Once you pop the screws out, turn the gauge cluster face up and slide it around until it comes out. Once you get it out, there are four plugs on the back:
