they damn near look the same, does the inner part of the tail lights from a EG hatch fit on the coupe?

I had a broken tail on my civic before and when we went to match it up at the junk yard, I ended up with a few tails before I got one that would fit. The coupe and hatch tails are the same on the outside but they mount on different, unless you want to cut some plastic and drill some holes in your car then they probably won't fit. I'm assuming that down there, the eg and ej are the same as the cx and dx in Canada?

he's talking about an eg (92-95) hatch and an ej (96-00) coupe...eg and ej are chassis codes...and to skribblah, anythings possible (although i wouldn't try it and you might get flamed for posting this), but if im not mistaken, the eg tails don't fit an ej coupe (not without modification at least)...and why do you want to know?? do you want to put them on your coupe or something??

I don't remember exactly but I think it is the outside that will fit and not the inner.

92-95 Hatchbacks have taillights that differ from the coupes and sedans and are not compatible with any other body style

I think you need to do some research about chassis codes.
EG= 92-95 Hatchback
EJ= 92-95 coupe
EK=96-00 Civic
EM=99-00 SI

This guy is right. 5th gen coupes and sedans use the same tails. Hatches are different.

Ummm, no you do. My 98 DX is a EJ6. Dont jump on people if you arent fully informed yourself. EG and EK are strictly JDM codes, EJ and EM and EH are the corresponding USDM codes. Rick
