tail light
so the previous owner of my 95 civic wired up a spoiler brake light in the wiring for the PS tail light. should be a simple addition looks correct. powered by the g/w wire which is the brake and tied into the ground. not sure where the back feed came from but somehow the socket for inner most bulb melted. had a hell of a time getting the bulb out and the socket connector was completely gone minus the spring. so many questions. why didnt such bad arcing cause a fuse to blow? dont see any bared wires (traced it pretty far even though that light is on the tail end of the harness) so what caused the back feed? finally, socal junkyards are cleaned of civics (atleast around me the ones I know of) does anyone have a line on a new socket housing for PS lid mntd tail light? because I dont feel like dropping a hundred dollars just because the socket went bad....and I cant find it anywhere

Re: tail light
Probably because PO put in a larger fuse after blowing twelve of them from having too many bulbs on the same circuit. It's an extremely common bulb. ANY car with the same style of bulb will have the same plug you can cut out. Alternatively, you could cut out and wire in just about any bulb socket with the same number of wires, you'll just have to remember what kind of bulb to use.
